speakers?

so im getting a stero for christmas, im going to customize/make 6x9 boxes for the rear of the cab (the stock 4x9 's are ****), but ive seen and heard of people with speakers in the doors. is this an after market kit?, DIY?, or is it factory? i have some nice alum. audiovox 6" round speakers that would be good in the doors. im planning on putting a full system (subs, amp, deck, speakers and so on). any help is appreciated! thanks!

Theres already factory 6x9's in the doors...and 6x9's are awesome.

If yours aren't working thats strange. They're supposed to, even on a NON-LE truck

hope that helps...6x9's sound better than any round speaker IMO

The stock door speakers were 6x9's. I guess you have a base model truck with no trim on the lower part of the doors?

I have seen doors with no speaker holes, I had to cut mine out as it was a radio delete truck.

If you don't have carpet or molded door panels the speaker mounts right to the door shell

Pretty much, use U-Nuts to hold them down with carpet I just cut the hole and mount thou it. Never had full door panels yet. But they just cover over the speakers.

Take the panel off. They are behind it towards the bottom of the door. Is there any wires feeding into the door from the front of the cab?

those would be the speaker wires and them being cut would explain why they aren't working. i'm guessing you have manual windows and door locks?
