Spacer fell out while fixing KDP. Need help!

Hey all,

I was fixing the KDP and found this spacer/washer underneath my truck. I torqued and checked all the bolts and can't figure out where it goes to. I have a 1992 d-250. Any idea where it goes? Pics below with links. Couldn't get them to post.

Thanks

How big is it? Can't think what it might be from. Only thing I can think of...but I pretty sure it's wrong...is the CPS sensor mounting arrangement ?

I'm about 99% sure that goes outside the cover. I can remember seeing that on one of the cover bolts.
I'll check in a few when I leave for work.

I don't think that it goes inside the timing cover, at least I didn't see anything like that when I did mine. My 90 doesn't have a cps and I don't remember seeing anything like that on my rig, so maybe marf75 is right...Mark

That washer goes on the bottom of the cover on the drive side of the dampener pulley to prevent the belt from rubbing the cover it moves back on the pulley.

Be sure and check the torque on all the timing case bolts to block. Most of mine were too loose, from finger tight to maybe 5 lbs torque?

This. It's a belt guide that goes on the bolt just to the driver side of the crank pulley.

Hi, Beesting,

I didn't receive any PM from you, try it again?

I just discovered the 'Chat Box' for the first time tonight. Apparently I've been receiving some kind of Chat messages ever since I joined, never knew about it before tonight!

Now it says 'Chat Box is Full' but there's no way to delete messages, empty box etc. If you tried to message me there I'm never going to see it...

Yes,
That is the part that I always get my belt hung up on when I lace it around the crank pulley.

Question.
When would the belt be rubbing on the timing cover?

Jim

Only time I can think of would be if the tensioner had become loose enough to allow the belt to slip/walk off the pulley(s) toward the block.

Hunted and pecked from a Galaxy S4.
