Source for eldorado calipers
I want to do a rear disc brake conversion and Im looking for eldorado calipers so I can keep my parking brake. All the online places show pictures of the caliper without the parking brake bracket & spring. Is this a separate part that I can purchase or do they usually come with the bracket?
Anyone know of a good price on these calipers with the bracket? My search has found a range from $70-150, but I dont know if the bracket is included. Thanks in advance.

The bracket is a separate item.
I got my PB bracket and springs from the local auto salvage yard. If you can find an eldorado then be sure to grab the calipers as well for a core trade-in on rebuilt ones from most any regular parts house.

Ultimately I had to find a bracket that would mount to the caliper, and with a little modification, have it fit the PB cable sheath of the Dodge truck . . . .

bc847- where did you get the PB lever & spring???
I have found all the other parts I need for the conversion, I just cant find the PB lever & spring.
I have found some new TSM calipers with the lever/spring, but they are $320/pair....too expensive.
Interestingly, in my search I have found that the 1985 cadillac eldorado calipers come with the PB lever/spring....but I hesitate to use those calipers because the 85 was a lighter car and I think the caliper is smaller.

Shouldn't the bleeder be positioned on top of the caliper at the highest point? I thought that was the only way you could get all the air out.

I was at the tire store and someone with a very new Buick cross-over and what appears to be the same style caliper as the old eldorado's. I would look hard at the newer GM stuff.

The more traditional mounting would have you swap sides with the calipers, and reposition the brackets such that the calipers would be just forward of straight down. The bleed ports would then be straight up and the PB cables would look forward as they should.

The goal was to install the calipers so that they'd be up and out of harms way, if you will. I had to remove the calipers and hold upright to bleed them. Takes five minutes longer.
