Sonnax transmissionparts
I lost my "detents" when I shift(727 3 speed) but thanks to some reading on this site I took it apart and re-attached the rooster by way of welding it. However, there always seems to be a "however" when I fix something on my truck, there is a little bit of play in the detent ball in the bore. I did some searching and found Sonnax repair parts. My question is not about the detent ball but about a manual valve (Part 22771-09) that says it charges the converter in park and DOES NOT CAUSE FOREWARD CLUTCH DRAG IN PARK. I hope there is a tranny guy out there that can explain what clutch drag in park means.
If I'm understanding it right, they're referring to the spool-valve that the rooster-comb works. Apparently, with wear and tear, the rooster-comb / spool-valve interface can get sloppy and can result in some hydraulic fluid leakage such that one of the clutch-pacs can become slightly pressurized so that the clutch is loosely engaged resulting in it dragging.
My TransGo kit had instruction showing how to fix that by adjusting (bending) the rooster-comb's fork that works the spool-valve.
See STEP 5 in the image below . . . .

I am interested in what else your TransGo kit involves. Is it some type of "shift kit" ? When I was done fixing my transmission I still had it on stands when I was filling it with oil and my rear wheels were spinning in neutral. So in park the parking pawl holds the truck, but that means there is a slight drag and drag = wear in my mind. I just don't want to have to do a total rebuild before its time...
