I just threw up in my mouth! We don't have much rust here, but the high altitude UV and heat tears up paint and interiors.

It ain't a 77 or 78, as they have bolt-in humps.

I'm not sure what other years had the removable humps.

Also be advised that those aluminum running boards are not helping. Once you add a little salt spray you start to get and anodic / cathodic reaction, and the steel looses. Its sacrificial to the aluminum so the rockers and floor pan will get corroded from both side if you have a leaking cowl. Pictures of rockers to follow. Could get some zinc blocks from a marine supply and attach them to the steps.

it's a 78 k-25 with a dodge d60 out front. the bolt in area on the hump was also pretty rusted up so you can't see the boltheads in that pic. this is the after on the GMC, I'm not the best welder especially with rust and thin metal.

the this is pretty much the most recent photo I have of that truck one top of test hill at silver lake sand dunes.

And from what I gather, if the floor is wet most of the time, the condensation collects between the roof panels and creates roof rot from the inside out. Stupid cowl cracks.

Most likely.

For taking care of rust like that (after you fix the holes obviously), use this:

http://www.eastwoodco.com/shopping/p...ProductID=1134

Eastwood just markets it for consumers, it's actually made by this company: http://www.corroless.com/

I have used it a lot and it's the only product of any kind that I can think of that works even BETTER than advertised.

I've already got some POR 15 I'm going to give a try on this one, I've heard some good things about it and not really any bad. that eastwood stuff looks to be somewhat similar. I cut up a used hood yesterday for the patch but ended up working 14 hours so I didn't touch my own stuff today. and I don't want to deal with the cowl cracks but I guess I better.
