And So Begins The Long Slippery Slope...
So here's the story. I'll try to make it short. I'm driving a co-worker home from work and as we get close to his house he starts talking about his buddy who has a powerstroke and how he wants us to race. My response is something like, "I will but I don't want to." Anyways, when we get there he gets out of my truck at his house saying to his buddy waiting in the driveway that I wanna race him. his buddy has a 94 powerstroke. He has a chip or w/e but didn't use it because it wasn't working. He also has 4" turbo back exhaust. No other mods as far as I know, even though I'm not really completely convinced. His truck smoked a little much for stock except for exhaust, maybe he used the chip after all I don't know. But anyways, both of us have autos. My truck is a reg cab with stock sized fairly bald tires. His is an extended cab f-250 with what looked like new 33" goodyear MTs (I think)
With the truck in my sig I absolutely blew him away. I mean, it wasn't even remotely close. I think I had a truck length on him by the time my truck hit the other side of the intersection. I don't know any better but if I had to say I would think my truck puts more to the ground than other trucks (first gen dodge cummins) that would compare to mine mod-wise... I don't know. My truck is pretty fast off the line it seems. Faster than I would think it should be.
That said, I know me winning came down (at the very least, in part) to truck weight, tire weight and size (I don't know what his diff gearing is though), and driver skill.
But it felt so good to spank a powerstroke!

Nice. Not alot to brag about because it is a powerjoke but good story
(kidding)
An intake/tune/downpipe/exh. on an early Powerstroke does wonders. A 94 would probably smoke from a dead stop a little bit
With the mods done to your truck it don't surprise me man, 14cm housing, 366 spring, dennyT.... thats some good stuff. + auto and your truck weighs less, you spanked him!

nice job! yeah these old 1st gens surprise me sometimes with the simple things you can do to them, I raced a 3rd gen cummins a few weeks ago with exhaust a chip and injectors and he was puttin 600hp to the wheels and he only beat me by about 2 car lengths in the end but we were close off the start. He and i were both surprised with my ol 12 valve. But thanks to that race, my hy35 is gone...

yeah I've heard the 6.4l is real fast and puts down good power with just the dpf delete and programmer. Honestly, I would like to race one to see how I compare lol.
On the plus I just got my ddp stage 4s in yesterday too. There are however a few things I want to do before I throw those in though. When I do put them in, I'll be removing the dennyt pin until I can get trans work done. I'll also likely be getting the GDS upgrade soon until I can afford 4" exhaust and a real turbo.
You're all going to wanna yell at me for this but the biggest bridal to me and the mods so far (apart from money, and coincidentally is also a result of money) is the fact I don't have gauges. I figured my current mods would be safe without them (and I'm right for once) and don't want to do anything more with the truck until I know what's going on with things.
