sleeper cab
does any one have info where to get one of those little quarter shells seen one on here some where a while ago but no find any more would like to cut the back of cab out and make my own little mega cab
You can do a "Google" search and several makers will come up.
Back when the giant fiberglass satellite dishes went the way of all other good things, there were no less than three companies close to me that set up to making the fiberglass "cowboy sleepers", fancy dog-houses, calf-hutches, and the like.
I ended up with one of them that is currently sitting on a pallet in the barn, awaiting it's next mission.
There is also a world-known huge church-steeple making company, in the next county over, that made bunches of them out of aluminum.
You can build a much better one than you can buy, and for a lot less money.

mopar marv's--

I actually saw one on a truck on ebay that had a boot going from the sleeper to the back window, and the back window was removed so you could slide right into th sleeper, and it was air tight/water tight of couse. The bed in the sleeper was level with the bottom of the back window frame and you could removed the bed part and it revealed two little seats and belts under there,

Every one I ever saw had the entire back glass removed and a boot between cab and sleeper.
Most decent camper supply places will carry the boot material, sold by the foot.
It takes about thirteen-feet, give or take, to go all around the back glass opening.
You start and end the boot at bottom center, so the gap is in the least likely place to leak.
The boot is "accordian" and allows for cab/bed flex.

$$$$$$$$That looks expensive$$$$$$ and NICE.
I like the rear door so that the jump-seat passengers can enter through the rear, instead of crawling through the cab.
Another option is to do like I did on my Ford and alter a real sleeper off a big truck to fit.
I cut out the rear cab-wall and it is almost a walk-thru, limited only by the not so tallness of a standard-size pick-up cab.
I am on the hunt for a taller/larger double-bunk one and intend to modify the interior for passenger seating, instead of so much for sleeping, or maybe a combination of both.

the sleeper was actually really cheap, if you can find one like that you can normally pick them up for about $100-$150 in really good shape. the paint job wasn't that much either. i've had the sleeper for several years and has been on several trucks. i love the way it looks and gives me alot more room with having a single cab. i would only put the walk in style on my truck for the simple fact that no one has to climb over the seat to get in it.
i just saw the one on ebay and he is asking WAY too much for that thing. you can pick them up a heck of alot cheaper than that. but it would be a heck of a steal if they would take 100 for it
haha
