Since mods, I love my truck. Long story

Hi,

I love my truck now. A while back I modifyed my truck. I wanted to do more but I ran out of time and money. So I have broken my mods up in phases.

So phase one is done and I have put over 1000 miles on it now. I remember that I posted about what I wanted to do to my truck and I got one response that said "that sounds like a project where the truck will end up on cinderblocks in the front yard". Or something like that. The funny thing was about 1/2 way thru the project I remembered that post and I was not going to let that guy be right. But it was close.

Here is what I did.

I rebuilt and regeared a 88 Ford F450 rear end.
I welded that Ford frame section on.
I extended the wheelbase a little.
I had to have a 2 piece driveshaft made.
I had to modify some Porsche calipers for my parking brake system.
I welded up a box for a sleeper so my dogs could ride in comfort. Down to one dog.
I got some Caddy seats and installed them.
I installed Ford hydro brake booster.
I had to widen my Alu. flatbed.

I still have a bunch of work to do.

I need to fix the cowl cracks and one rocker and one hole in the fender.
I need to paint my truck also.
I need to modify and install the Superduty front hubs and brakes.
I also need to finish my dump mechanisum. And finish my crane.

It was a ton of work but it was worth it to me. As now I love my truck.

Go to the photos section of the site and click where it says "upload photos", then just do what the computer tells you to do.

I'd love to see pics of it, it sounds like quite a project.

I've been motivated by comments like that a few times myself. You're about to give up and then you think "I can't give that the pleasure of being right!", so you push on through and get 'er done. I always go and thank the person afterwards, that usually gets 'em all and .

I wanted a dual rear wheel axle and the local truck junk yard had a F450 truck they where parting out so I bought the rear frame with the axle. I also bought the front axle for the hubs and 6 wheels.

Now to figure out how to post pics.
