simple little fix

djust thought id share a simple fix for loose heater/ac dash inserts. several of mine were loose in the hole and one kept wanting to fall in the dash but it wasnt broken. i took them out and put them in a pan of boiling water for about 30 sec or so. then i carefully pryed the little tabs open and propped them open with a tooth pick them put them back in the boiling water for about 10-15 seconds. then i just took them out and let them cool and removed the toothpicks. put them back in the dash nice tight fit. this worked so slick i just thought id pass it along.

That is some real good advice there and should possibly be "sticky" material.

I doubt there is a 1st Gen. truck on this forum that isn't plagued with at least one loose vent.

Here's what I did: Popped the vents out and put a strip of the "fluffy side" of velcro on the top and bottom. From the factory they had felt strips there, but those fell off most of out trucks about 5 years ago.
