shocks?
It depends on what you consider or think a good ride is???
I like the stock, stiff, firm ride that gas shocks give (i have Rancho 5000's on mine. ) Guys here, because of Jim Lane's legwork are switching to NON gas charged , oil filled regular style shocks, which give a smoother ride according to their users.
They will have to chime in regarding name and part numbers.
I've heard Billsteins are a favorite, and are not cheap by any means

I went with Jim's suggestion on the pro comp 3000 non gas charged but I also did parabolic 3 leaf front spring at the same time, definitely a smother ride although there is a trade off, at least on my truck smoother ride = more body roll, I've gotten use to it but with no sway bars I would not be comfortable hauling a camper, but for a daily driver the combination shocks, springs are a big improvement over stock IMHO

Seriously, I run Monroe Gas Magnums. I feel that because the suspension on the W350 Dually is so stiff I would be throwing away money running the more expensive brands. The last set went about 200,000 miles before I replaced them. The only suspension modification so far has been adding a couple leaves on the front to level the truck when empty and 5000 pound air bags on the rear to eliminate sag with a load.
