shaving the nylon washer

getting ready to work on the mods in my sig over the next couple weeks...but have another newbie question...

how do you go about shaving .090" off of the nylon washer under the diaphragm?

can it be done by hand?

just sounds like a very small amount, and I'd be concerned about shaving it "level"...

I've searched for "nylon" and "shave", and just really haven't come up with anything other than "I did it" or "I didn't do it"...nothing about "how" to do it...

Thanks.

you can do it by hand with sand paper, real easy, just keep it as flat as you can.

does it make a difference which way you face the smooth side vs. the sanded down side?

NO it is a no ware item ...it just stops the shoulder on the cone from hitting the fuel pin . by shaving it your letting the cone go down to its deepest point.

hope that helps?
