Seat/Seat Belt questions

I've searched around the forum and can't find anything on this, so I'll post it up.

Does anyone but me find the 1st gen CC seat belts to be a little on the short side? I mean, I'm not skin and bones, but my Jeep will let me reach anywhere I need to, and in the truck, I can barely reach to the radio.

With the OEM seats and the recline set to full upright, I still lay back way farther than I like. I think the simplest fix for this is to fab up a spacer, get some longer bolts, and raise the back of the seat about an inch.

But I'm at a loss as to how to 'stretch' the seatbelt accordingly.

Suggestions???

Thanks in advance,
Mike

Lose weight? :p

I don't have a good answer for you. They are kinda on the short side, I used to have trouble with mine back when I weighed 100 lbs more. My dad is unable to wear the seatbelt when he rides in the passenger seat, it just won't fit.

they do make seat belt extentions, check with the dealer.

Losing actual weight would likely hurt less than losing wallet weight at the Dealership... [laugh]

Almost always does, doesn't it?

It looks a little like jerry rigged it up, but my donor crew cab has an eight inch hunk of chain bolted to the floor in the seatbelt hole and the belt is bolted to the other end of the chain. I had an old datsun pickup (oh carp, did I admit that?) that had the same set-up once as well.

The seat belt extenders work well for me.
BTW. I'm 5'7" & 240 with very short legs too.
They even keep the shoulder belt off side of my neck.
They were in my truck when i got it.
