Say it ain't so!! Bought a Second-Gen...

http://blogs.dieselpowermag.com/6670...ect/index.html

So I now have four cars for my two mile drive to work (89 Dodge, 95 Dodge, 82 Chevette, 71 Nova) and one of 'em has to go. After some thinking on the subject, I've decided to keep the First Gen at least until I can break 600 to the wheels with it. What's funny is that because of the weight difference, I'll need to make about 150 hp more with the Second Gen for it to be as fast as 'ol Rusty.

Project 300 isn't yours? Or that white ford you guys just got for $2500 ?

I was sad to see Project "Godzilla" go. Those 6.4's are impressive.

I'd sell the 2nd gen........The Chevette and the nova are too cool to sell. And well rustbucket....It's rust free and it's fast so you should keep it.

Nah, just cause I am a cheap 1st gen guy doesn't mean that I own all our cheapo projects. Rust Bucket and the new 95 are the only ones I personally own.

And yeah, I did own a 97, but I'm taking another stab at a p-pumper.

JQmile,

I love the second gen trucks so I'm looking forward to the magazine article about the truck. Love project rust bucket, nice to see the first gen appearance.

It'll probably be just like that old 96 dually......Trans/converter, fuel plate, intake, exhaust, deliv. valves,, injectors.

except this build will be coming out of JQ's pocket

Jason, you def cant get rid of the first gen because October 9th you need to come down to the big Texas Diesel event outside Dallas. I'm gonna be there and would love to get some pics and video with my first gen against your first gen. Should be a good smoke show if nothing else. LOL

I say get rid of the Chevette. Not really special. Gets the same mpg as a modded Golf TDI but not near the power or comfort, or A/C.

Oh, and what ever happened with the project 300 oil centrifuge article that DP said it was going to have an in debth article in August issue, but it never came out in the mag? I was looking forward to that article since I build Dmax centrifuge kits.
