Saggy rear springs
Saggy rear springs
My rear springs are getting a bit saggy. The truck still carries loads well, but rides low in the rear.
I have thought about re-arching the springs, but have heard they just sag again soon. I have also thought about buying new stock springs, or perhaps stocks plus a couple leafs added to the pack.
Has anyone got any experiences/suggestions on what I should do? I use the trck as a daily driver and to haul heavy loads in the box. Ride is not much of a concern.
Thanks

JC Whitney has an add a leaf. I have one on the front of mine. They work good, but I will say that it was a real pain to get the spring pack apart, and then back together. It will stiffen the ride.

I would be real surprised if 2 would fit in there. Like I said, 1 is a real SOB. I actually broke a vise putting mine together. (But I think that's because I hit it too many times with the BFH)

If I take my idea to a spring shop I wonder if they could give 'er a try. They could probably give me some larger retainers that would accomodate it. I'm trying to squeeze extra payload here. What do you think?
By the way what does bfh stand for
(just kidding)

A spring shop could do it I bet. If you had a press of some sort you could probably do it yourself. The problem I had was compressing the spring pack to get the retainers and centering bolt back on. And remember: There are very few problems in life that a big enough hammer can't fix!!
