Running Real Bad

The last couple of day the truck has been running weird.
As soon as i get on the pettle, and try and biuld a bit of boost the etgs go way out of control, and the turbos lag badly. I can only hit 25 maby 30 psi witch is half of what i was doing before and the etgs are at 1600+ ,and i didnt make any changes. Its blowing alot of back smoke, more then before, and maby abit of white smoke just before the black smoke.

Before i could hit 50 pounds, and not even break 1250d.
now it 25 - 30 pounds and 1600+.

Any thoughts?

Joel

Check your intercooler boot's ?or search for a leak somewhere in the system .

Sounds like a boost leak to me too.

It idles and start like a new cummins should, a boot leak would make me very happy, because its not somthing serious.

But im amazed thata simple leak could make such a difrence

Thanks
I will keep you posted

I had a boot blow on me once while pulling a hill. Pulled great then when the boot blew, The truck ran fine but wouldn't get out of it's own way for nothin' Put the boot back on and tighten the clamp and all better.
