Ride Height?
Does anybody know what the “factory stock ride height” should be for my truck? 1991 D-350 LE dually
Last week I had my rear springs rearched back to factory specs.
And when I picked it up the rear end was 4" higher than when I dropped it off.
(They arched the springs to the specs. in the book that gives the dimensions for the spring, not for how the truck sits.)
I also now have a vibration under acceleration and around 75-80 MPH that I think is from the new drive line angle.
I am going to take it back on Wednesday and they will dearch them to the ride height I specify.
I am looking for level or maybe about 1" higher in the rear.
I usually carry about 500# to 700# in the bed at all times.
Right now I can jump up and down on the bumper and it hardly moves.
Thanks Jim

How much life can someone expect out of a rearch? I would think a rearch wouldn't last long because the leaves lose their (tensile?) strength over time and sag fater than the first time around.
Maybe lettin' them go awhile would let them settle in to a more desireable height without them going to where they were before the rearch. I'm just guessing, anyone know for sure? I was debating the rearch/new scenario myself.

I had a set of 4x4 springs custom-arched, six inches higher than new OEM arch, on a less than two month old truck.
That truck is sitting in the yard, right now, with over 400,000 miles, and it is sitting as tall as ever.

When I was in the market for springs the guy said a rearch wasn't recomended said it wouldn't last if you did any heavy hauling.
So I made my own spring packs found some springs from a 2 & 1/2 ton grain truck 10 leaf 3/8 thick per leaf.
