rice crispy suspension revisited!
rice crispy suspension revisited!
Well for those who remember I posted a while back about heavy popping clunking sound when turning over uneven terrain. When I puledl into a drive yesterday and thought I hit curb. Well I didn't something broke. Got up this morning and pulled out and she pulled hard right all the time. Looked close across the hood and noticed it dead level (usually sags to the driver side a little, its normal for a first according to manu TSB's). Got out and looked, I now have 15 deegrees of negative camber on the front passenger side wheel. It looks like maybe upper control arm bushings. The ball joints are still intact. I guess I should fix that welded tie rod end while I'm in there.
Looks like a busted knuckle sandwhich instead of sunday nap for me.

I fixed it. The ball joint hat had popped out of the control arm. Apparently this has happened before it looked slightly wallowed out. So I threaded in a fresh ball joint and tacked it down with a welder. Don't worry I did so I could grind it off easy. I love my welder. I also greased the front end for the first time this century.
