93 D250 Won't Shift out of Park
I have been preparing to go on a large trip with the old square body so I've been changing out fluids and doing general maintenance, however yesterday I went to go hop in the truck only to find it would not shift out of park. I don't know what the issue could be, I've browsed the forum and other parts of the internet but have only found resources for newer trucks. My '93 is an automatic and I currently have the steering column exposed to see why it won't shift, the mechanics on the column seem to be find, it seems like it almost is getting the assistance to actually shift the transmission or that the transmission isn't letting it go. ((My trip was supposed to start yesterday, at this point I'm just trying to get back whenever I can.))

If the key tumbler is not doing its job right you can not move the auto shifter out of park.
If that is not it, then pop off one of the rod ends on one of the links between the steering column and the transmission, and see if one side or the other moves to isolate your problem area.

My truck dose this from time to time on my truck its how the wheels are pointed when parked. Play with the steering wheel while you try to shift out of park this also happens most when parked on an incline so its the parking pal doing its lob a little to well Ken
