Replacing light switch with newer style

We rewired my 94 (warranty recall) with a newer style light switch that had no molded parts..basicly all wiring harness...Has anyone replaced their 1st Gen light switch in this way??? Having trouble with running lights etc..Mark

Not sure what you are referring to- I'll have to keep an eye on this thread for an answer.

Most of us with duallies make a relay on the tail light circuit a must have for a "new" truck. I have done it on the last 3, and have not replaced a switch after that. Also putting a relay on your headlight circuit will increase the output, while taking load off the already marginal switch. I did have to get a new wiring pigatail for the truck end on Mom's 92, but I got one from a junkyard 96-ish van.

Good luck.

I am refering to the main headlight switch on the lower dash...A lot of these had molded parts the wires ran through and tended to melt into one big mess when aux lights and trailers were added....The newer style had a pigtail not passing through plastic....Mark
