Replacing fuel tank straps
 

talk about a royal PITA!! Its a pain to do it without completely removing the tank, but an hour and a half later I managed to do it! That key-knotch style that goes in the frame side is a horrible design.
That and it is still a dealer only part, and are way to expensive for what they are....

I guess you don't need any then? I have two nices ones removed off my 90 CTD parts truck you could've had.

now you tell me....

I may be interested in grabbing that front one off of you though. Just in case it deciedes to let go.... btw, I'm shooting for possibly next weekend to come down and get that turbo possibly, if the deal still goes.

This is good to know, I have one to do too. Fortunatly I took it off the road to put the 2000 on. Unfortunatly my brother filled the fuel tank up for me. So it still sits waiting with a full tank.

I managed to leave the front strap on, disconnect the fill and vent tubs, and let the tank hang, then shift the rear of it center and I was able to get enough room to fiddle around and get the strap in the frame bracket... but it was a PITA would be easier with the tank out by far... I don't know if I'd trust just the front strap to hold up a full tank though, thats alot of weight, with alot of extra leverage. If you can, have someone help you. I did mine by myself, but an extra set of hands would have been nice. don't forget to put a board or something between your jack and the fuel tank to spread the load out.

I strapped it up with with a rachet strap to take the load off the front one.
