Rebuilt getrags?

Are there any shops that sell rebuilt getrag 360's? I have had a hard time finding one doing internet searches.

I figured I'd have a ton of places to pick from.

Thanks,
Russ

This place may be able to help You, I got the # on this site. 1800 658 2537
You can also buy a core and rebuild it Yourself if You're mechanically inclined. This guys are very helpful, they can walk You step by step with all the rebuild. There is someone here that has the rebuild manual for the g360.

I know there are at least a few shops that sell rebuilds on ebay, but need your core. One of the shops is out of phoenix.

I am fairly mechanically inclined. I am nearing the end of the process of removing a cummins engine from one truck and putting it into another truck. I am also moving the rear end and installing a few after market parts like exhaust, turbo and airsep.

I have never taken apart a manual transmission. Is this rebuild something that you think I could do?

I'd prefer to go that route, but I have read about some pretty specific details that needed to be tended to in the 360 rebuild and figured it was best left to pro's. I have also read about people on here rebuilding the rag and then having to rebuild it again after a short period of time.....I am assuming this is due to improper first rebuild.

I certainly like the price of the rebuild compared to the purchase! Heck, with the $$ left over, I could upgrade the clutch.

How long would should I expect to have the trans out of the truck for a rebuild? Could I do it in a weekend?

Thanks again for the info,
Russ

yeah, that is the specific details I was talking about and I have the manual that was being floated around on this site.

I actually put in my website for download.

I guess I should stop being a puss and just rebuild the thing myself.

ANy idea on how long I should plan on having the tranny out for the rebuild?
