Rebuild 46 rh Ron swap to 47

this is my first post I have a 93 auto4x4 transmission slipping surprise surprise, I’m trying to decide if I should rebuild it or swap to a 47 rh. Truck is all stock except fuel pin, but plan on mildly building it up turbo housing, and tune the pump etc, nothing more than that really. I do tow with it and has a flat deck and like to load it when ever possible. Thanks for any help

The lockup torque converter was probably the best mod I have done to my truck.

I've never had a 47 but mine has an upgraded valve body, flex plate and converter and I really like it over stock.

Here is my write up on the subject. https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...-327485/page2/ A lot of work, but in the long run, I'm very happy with it.

So I still haven’t made the decision yet on which route is better to go to rebuild in the mean time found my front cab mounts rotted off, so tackling them. Also while waiting I have stumbled upon another first gen but with a 5spd Getrag, now comes the next question would I have to change the gear ratio in diffs or would it be ok as is I do the swap?

No need to swap gear ratios.
Both your '93 auto and that Getrag 5 speed are overdrive transmissions, so your truck will behave like it did on the highway with the old auto.
