rear sliding window latch

My factory rear window latch finally broke a couple weeks ago and I replaced it with one from the part store. So far to of them have broke. I always have my rear window open and need a latch that will last. Got any ideas?

Also on a side note can someone tell me how many quarts of oil the rear end holds.

Don't know of any sources for the window latch other than junkyard or someone parting a truck. They seem pretty universal so maybe you could check out an auto glass shop.

For the rear end, 3.5qts with the stock cover.

Thanks. Father in law is selling his truck and it has rockcrusher diff covers on it. Told me I could have his if I put my old ones on his truck and pay for the oil.

I made one work from a 70's Chevy truck. It's not the same but is holding after a year or so with the Arizona oven affect going on in the cab. Chevrolet still has them, there was one in stock at my Chevy dealership. It was less than 10$ out the door. But if the truck is sitting somewhere bad I still throw some pieces of 3/8" rod in the slider tracks to prevent break in's.

sliding rear window latch

I've used afew latchs off the 89-97 ford pickup f150 f250 f350 the sqaure body fords. I have two trucks with sliding rear windows an they both have the ford style latch . the ford ones are very nice units visit one of your local junkyards. let me say this latch works great. u will have to drill two holes but be carefull when drilling the hole in the alum trim on the end of the glass. use a 1/16 drill bit when drilling the holes in the alum trim. These latches work great.
