Hello all, I am posting about my rear main seal leak and my getrag. I just purchased this truck, 93 133000 miles on it. The rear main seal drips a little. I am sure it is not the oil pan gasket. I am planning a trip to Baja and don't want to have the seal go out and smoke my engine. So because you have to drop the tranny should I change mine. It is a working getrag. I just put a new one in my 90 and it shifts alot better then my 93. What is a core or used getrag worth? How much is is to upgrade to the nv4500? I figure for the price I could probably get the seal done and a new tranny for just a 1000 more? Am I way off. Just looking for ideas.

 

~$500 core from a trans builder, invididual worth is only what that individual is willing to give, usually less. Install a new seal and be done with it.
