Aloha-

I can't believe anyone is having a hard time finding those sockets; they are hanging in every parts house around my little 3rd world town.

Harbor Freight has a double-ended one with a slide-rod handle; I am not certain what the other end fits.

It does not necessarily need to be a round-cornered socket; and, if it is a pointed-corner socket, it will work, plus also work on just about anything else DANA.

I have the pointed-corner 2-9/16 socket and use it on both the GOOD old double-nut/folding-tab-lock-washer nuts, plus it works equally well on the rounded-corner ny-lock junk that the later trucks use.

I have never had a double-nut set-up to ever give any problems; not so with the junk nylock mess that is on the later trucks.

The nylock nuts are way too soft, thus the bearing soon cuts a groove in the nut, loosening bearing adjustment and ruining the expensive nut.

The good stuff :

Have fun.

I hear you totally. What I meant was that everything you guys in the upper 48 can easily find and take for granted, shoot, we have to special order or search online. Thank goodness for the forums!

For the record, I have the socket 'in hand'. Got it from yours truly.... NAPA. Thanks for all the input and efforts.
