Yes I checked the FAQ.

My transfer case shifter didn't look like the one in the faq. It has a factory threaded rod and nut to tension the lever.
It also has a plastic bushing that rides on the shaft of the mounting bracket.

I tightened everything up and it still rattles. Any suggestions? I can't find any loose joints or anything.

 

same problem here but i think its the adjustment for the postion. it feels like it always wants to slip out. i dont have a link to the picture on how to adjust it from underneath but try looking for that. hope this helps. david

 

mine rattles too. my memory is crap and i keep forgetting to crawl under there and look. it wiggles side to side but it works fine

 

make a diffrent boot for it that is made out of something a little thicker with some padding! it will still move around while driving but wont make any noise!
