Quick VE pump question

Putting a VE back together and got a quick question.

Doesn't the dowel pin on the cam plate go in line with the key ways for the vane / drive gets to have the pump in time?

Can't find my pump book, and it has been a while since I've been in a VE

Yes. Keyway aligned with hash mark in the boss for the seal, pin aligned with the keyway, and the pump is at approximately #1 TDC.
