question on a Dana 70 rear

Have a Truck 92 that I am fixing and it has a Detroit locker in rear .is it ok if you can move drive line from say 12 O Clock to 4 O Clock Owner say's it has to have some slop .After finding what I have over last couple day's I think it's worn out .????? Any Advise

I had a ford 60 rear with a Detroit and there was a ton of play in the yoke, right from day one.
Same with a buddies 10.5 inch sterling rear.

Detroit lockers do have a lot of play. My 68 Chevy 20 had about that much. It's the nature of the beast.
