pyrometer

well I smarted up and realized semis have pyrometers and that a local junkyard has numerous semis. SOoooooo I went and took a few out to make sure I had options in case one didnt work or something. However, I have the gauges and now I need to verify something. If I have a 1800 degree pyro can I buy a 2000 degree lead wire off of the net? Are probes interchangeable for the mostpart? If not what options do I have. I dont want to spend 100+ on a pyro

Go to your local truck shop and buy a type "K" thermocouple, it will work fine. My local shop sells them for about 30 dollars

Not necessarily; you also need the special two-wire cable that connects the pyro to the K-probe.

This thread may offer some insight :

It says a 1/4 x 20 thread on the business end.

Please explain/show just what all you did to plumb this in to the manifold.

The price is RIGHT !!!

On Edit :

I also found this :
