Pump timing ? Beware!!
I thuoght I should let you know a little something I found out. I adjusted my timing via the 1/8" method because I was to lazy to brake out the gauge. I finally got around to checking it with the gauge and it was way high. O.K. I must have read the gauge wrong(miscuonted the revolutions). I was short on time so I set it back to factory and went home. Later on I got a bug and advanced it 1/8" again. A month or so later it was killing me not knowing. I pulled it in the shop and when I checked it it was 1.9mm
. I checked it again and it was the same. I called my workmate to double check me. It was high. So I set it at 1.45mm. By the way the tag said 1.25mm stock, the marks where at 1.50mm. Lessons learned? If you advance your timing use a gauge!
