Pump questions
Pump questions
Hello, I've got some questions about adjusting my ve pump. I've recently replaced my headgasket and replaced the o-rings in my ve as well as added the 3200 spring. It drove great iniatially. Two days ago my truck started surging while the engine was not under load and my foot was resting on the go pedal. I started looking for a cause and found that the afc line was broken just below the banjo fitting. Now when the truck sits overnight when I try to start it, it acts like it was got air in the fuel lines ie: lots of cranking, white smoke, rough idle until it warms up. If have been playing with the fuel screw because i had it on the verge of runaway but have gotten that fixed. Could the broken afc line cause the surging and hard starting or do I need to look elsewhere. What are the signs of a lift pump going bad? Any help would be awesome. Thanks
