The pump is done!
The pump is done!
Picked it up today. Hope it works, when we get it put in. I had the guy put in the 3200 gov spring. On the bottom or the slip in big bold leters it says 3200 spring instaled no warranty. But it should be fine. it cost $592 for the complete job. I didn't think that was to bad.

I was expecting a warranty....they did put the spring in so why would it be any different from a stock spring? Maybe the warranty was something you had to pay for and the 3200 had nothing to do with it. IDK, but I am not gonna worrie about it. The person who did it is one of the best rebiulders around

Yeah, I paid about 900 bucks plus my core for an off the shelf reman. I woulda taken the extra down time to save a couple hundred. They probably can only warranty a 'stock' rebuild. Since the 366 is not a stock part number for a VE that is Cummins/Dodge bound, no warranty.

Pushing the pin into the hole just confirms TDC on the compression stroke...it doesn't have anything to do with the placement of the pump relative to the timing case. I would suggest installing the pump in a conservative position to start---a fair ways from the head (retarded) and just work your way up (toward the head with the top of the pump) in small increments. This will give you experience with what different levels of timing sound like and help you learn what your truck likes/will tolerate.
