Pulling auto trans in a '93 W350 4x4

I pulled the trans last spring to do a rear main and when I did I seperated the transfer case from the trans. I am thinking about doing a new TC from Goerend so I am going to have to pull it again this spring. I would like to save a bit of time and leave the transfer case hooked up, but it seems like an awful lot of weight hanging from them studs. What do you guys do?

I seperated mine, seemed easy.. Only a few extra bolts to undo.. one heavy edit when you leave them together!!
