PS pump problems

I have posted a bunch here abouut a year ago, but lost all computer info in my last move. After a short drive the other nite to the store, I came out to see a big dripping puddle under the beast... It was power steering fluid. When I got home, (.5 miles) the steering fluid was real foamy and seemeed to be boiling over in the pump. I noticed hard steering and a groan when I turned the wheel. I;m guessin I need to replace my PS pump, but have no idea what is involved to change it out. Any info or tips before I tear into this ?????
Thanks a ton, Jeff

Check the return line for leaks, The pump could be sucking air from a hole in the hose. Just like when you drink from a straw with a hole in it, you get liquid and air mixed. The oil and air bubbles end up overflowing out the reservoir.

Thanks Jim, I'll give that a look in the morning. I have a new pump on the way, but if it just ends up being one of the 2 lines, at least I wont have to switch out the pump. Could I have done any real damage to the pump in that 1/2 mile of driving???

Nope, if it wasn't hurt 1/2 mile won't hurt it.

As soon as the rain stops, I'll check that return line. With the truck running will I actually see a leak in the return or will it just be pulling air back into the system without actually leaking? I hate having another project in my garage!!!

it might be the hose, or could be a loose clamp or fitting.
