parking brake question
parking brake question
I appoligize in advance for this stupid question. When I got my truck it had been worked on by "mechanically disinclined" prior owner, including the back brakes. I went in and redid the rear brakes with one ton slave cylinders, shoes, etc. The difference was night and day, actually a bit much in the rear for the snow we have had here in CO lately. I am looking towards Michahfiled's suggestion in another thread to ditch the ABS and replace the combo valve with an adjustable proportioning valve. I digress...
The question is that I, and basically all of the parts counter guys (including the dealership, as sad as that is) could not figure out how the parking brake cable attaches to the actuator lever inside the drum. The cable has a barrel on the end, and the actuator has a C shaped cutout. Pictures would be great. The dealership pictures do not show anything, but looking at it, there has to be something. Thank goodness it is an auto, but I would be much more comfortarble with a parking brake when I am towing and have to park on a slope.
Thanls in advance.
