P-pump Conversion

What is needed to convert to P7100 pump and what is the approx. cost for parts. I think my IP is on its way out so figure I might just go to P-pump

9 times out of 10 it is cheaper to just find a complete P-Pump engine to swap in, instead of finding all the separate parts. It's a lot easier too.

So it's not a simple bolt on swap? I was curious as well. Great thread.

If you have a p-pump motor it is.

pppp pump

if you search the sigs closely youll see a few that have been modded, a lot of the 1st gen purists, including me, love their ve, one way to locate all of the parts, is to look for a blown motor, overheated or oil loss, youll need the timing assembly and cover, pump, lines, mounting, look closely at a motor to see all the associated parts for installation, anything missing? $$$$$ dealer, so, whats wrong with your pump?

Well I think it is just showing its age finally after 320,000 miles cause if you read my other thread it is stumbling under heavy acceleration and at a steady throttle in sounds like it is running on all injectors the will the sound like it running of 3 or 4 then also just have lost some power also

Far from a bolt on swap. If you want to do it, there are quite a few threads with info about it, and a few that actually detail the swap. But like I said before, and as others tht have done the swap will say, it is a lot easier to just find a 2nd gen 12 Vlave engine and swap in.

Cedardiesel, I wouldn't count the VE out yet. What have you done so far to try to take care of the problem? We may have something else you can try.

Well I have replaced the Lift Pump and also made sure no air is getting in the system. What else could it be?
