One Hour Towing mirror install.
Long time lurker here. First time posting so forgive my nubieness.
Here is my tow mirror install. After spending way too much time and money finding mirrors tow mirrors, this is what I came up with. Kind of corny, but will be guaranteed to work.
Matt
Purchase 2 of these from Amazon. "Grand General 33324 Chrome Tripod Fender Mount 8.5” Convex Mirror Set"
I decided that the mirror was too convex so I also ordered 2 of these "Grote 12173 8" Stainless Steel Round Convex Mirror with Offset Ball-Stud"
Offset stud will allow swinging the mirror out or in on the mount a bit.
Here goes.
Drill 3 3/8 inch holes in your door.
1) 11 inches back from front side of door and 9 1/2 down from mirror.
2) 1 3/4 inches back from front side of door and 2 1/2 down from body line
3) 2 inches to the rear from the mirror and 2 1/2 down from body line
Install the upright piece.
Install the fixed brace and bend its tab to match the upright.
Cut down the inside of the adjustable brace to 4 1/2 inches, Cut down the outside bracket to 5 1/2 inches, squish the last inch in your vice, and drill a 5/16" hole.
Install this adjustable brace.
Tighten all mounting bolts and install your mirror.
Enjoy vibration free towing mirrors.
