once a day, really bad front end shake while braking

Hey everyone, so a few days ago my truck started this really bad shake when braking for a red light/stop sign. But, then for the next stop sign, my truck is smooth. It happens once a day now, everyday...maybe three times. I don't think it is brakes or calipers or rotors. It has to be something else.
Any ideas? When the shake does happen, it feels like it is going to to throw the ladder off my ladder rack and into the ditch 15' away. It's pretty bad.

Thanks for the advice. I don't have any lift on my truck and the truck is in the shop. I'm not sure how well that would go over with me explaining that I wanted to do crossover steering.
I would just like to stick with that cheap bracket. It lasted a long hard life.
