If they only knew how big a headache the antilock brakes are they wouldn't have advertised it lol. I could just see the frames/cowls cracking bouncing like they were. Yea it was cool to see the old commercials though.

Were they the first trucks with dual rear wheels? Can't be.

There may have been a couple years where they didn't offer a pickup dually, like they did with the club cabs. The cab/chassis duallies have always been there. They built dually pickups back through the seventies.

Cool bit of history, it looks like the precursor to drifting the way they were driving them though. Yeah, cowl cracks a'plenty there.

X2 on the antilock, they used to lock up on me more than no ABS.

It's funny how now a new truck has tons of new features year to year, whereas in 89 they had two new features and one was prolly a federal mandate.

I think some of the 1 tons cab & chassis had dual wheels back in late 40s or early 50s but not sure if they were called 1 tons. The duallys "cab & chassis" came out IIRC in 73/74 by chevy. Trying to work on memory but remember i'm old. My uncle bought one of the 1st chevy duallys but just can't remember when it was-somewhere between 73 thru 76. I think i'll google it up.

Question

What's up with the lights in the bumper on the dually?
Looks like the regular parking lights below the headlights aren't on...

You'd have to be tough to drive a 1st gen that fast over those bumps! Spine of steel!

Yeah, like wanna said. You would have to be strapped in for that taping of the commercial. Must have been a Hollywood stunt driver.
