Mine should be in by Friday.
That's great, the outfit that I bought mine from is in the process of changing all their kits. They advertise the kit as an exact replacement kit, so it is pretty important to them. I just can't believe that we are the first ones ever to have run into this problem. I e-mailed the receipt to them and they are going to return the 20 bucks that I paid for the correct one...Mark

The company I bought my kit from said just pitch the other valve. It wasn't worth the shipping to them.

That is what my guy said also. must have a million of them. Rockauto did the same thing with a lock cylinder, they said to keep it for 2 weeks then I can do what I want with it. It is a 50 dollar part too. Too bad it's no good...Mark

Glad you used the Nylog!! I discovered it when redoing the A/C on my old MB. Been six years now, using freeze-12. Ester Oil is the best way to go IMHO.

It's an outfit out of San Diego, called buyautoparts.com. They are the same name on ebay, less the .com. Make sure you note the correct part# for the expansion valve...Mark

Well, I don't know about you, but it was hard enough to slide a 3/8' into, 1/2" is IMPOSSIBLE. I even loosened the shroud up and it cleared space for everything, except the hole . Some idiot aftermarket parts designer thought that if 3/8" is good, then 1/2" is better, NOOOOT!!!!!. I am going to try and get a dremel in there to cut out access space for the tool. What a bunch of dumb bastigeges......Mark
I picked up a serpentine tool kit for a little bit of nothing a while back. Slid right into my tensioner. It has a flat bar instead of a ratchet mechanism.

To put a fork in it I drove down to Mexico today, rained a lot, high humidity and she got down to 38 degrees. I was a very happy ice cube. I charged it in a very non-scientific way, but it must be very close. I like that I can buy 134a without a license, anywhere and it sure seems to cool very well, andale pues...Mark

Yes, the condenser and the evaporator are the only original parts left. The system was still blowing very cold when the wire to the compressor clutch broke. I figured that both parts must be good. Did I screw up?...Mark
