I have 92 4x4 5-spd Reg. cab. Heres my problem, I love my truck, It's black, with shiny Alcoas, and such. But the **** thing rides like a tank, I'm running narrow 30&quot; tires, and the seat is not what I'd call comfortable. Q is would running wider 33&quot; tires help any, and Is there any fix for the seat?<br>Any help would be appreciated.<br>J

They'll probably help some and maybe som Ranch 9000's. But just remember you bought a TRUCK that'll get the job done.

Is there any fix for the seat?<br><br>Well, how about a nice set of Capitans chairs from the local U Pick ? Find a Conversion van and help your self to instant comfort ! Just think, you could find heated leather , power adjustments ------ Dont forget seat belts .<br>

Gotta love solid front axles with leaf springs! My kidneys will attest to this after 17 years of that. not much for comfort, but you can hang a 9' plow off the front with little or no droop ;D Try going with new springs with thinner leaves and more leaves, this will give the suspension a little more flex,hence maybe a better ride?

i have a first gen also with 31/10.5/16's adn it still rides like a log wagon.. a buddy has put a skyjacker 2.5 lift on his and helped the ride out a great deal.. going to do the same when money permits .. try this site for prices and ideas.. good luck Ace http://www.rockymountainsusp.com/dodge.htm

I run 33 x 12.5 x 16.5 BFG mud terrains on mine. They do seem to ride a little better than the stockers, but not a huge difference. I'd suggest some nice factory bucket seats like some of the club cabs had. Mine has these and I love 'em.<br><br>Like redleg said, don't forget you have a real truck, not a wimpy 1/2 ton, IFS'd wanna be. These were the last of the real trucks made. Dana 60, 70, leaf springs and NP205 case plus Cummins power. What more could a guy want? Maybe a better ride, I guess. ;D

When they brake, they are more expensive to fix! I had a couple for a long time. They did what I needed and I enjoyed them, but now I need a truck, so I put up with the ride. It's also nice because big SUV's aren't so inclined to push me around! [/quote]

mine's rough too, and the rear routinely leaves the ground on a big bump, but man it's smooth with 10,000lbs hangin off the back

My .02 is try not to put high back seats into a regular cab truck. I hated mine. If your're backing out of angle parking or just doing a shoulder check (like you did on your drivers test remember? ) they are a real pain. But the big truck air ride isn't such a dumb idea. Check the wreckers, they'll have some nice ones. Some logistics to work out but if your thinking about a seat swap anyway. I'm gonna do it to mine

Any big truck dealer can sell you low profile air ride seats that will do what you want. Also get the fore/aft slide, it helps a lot.

Yep my 92 is a kidney beater but I can hang my 31ft Prowler travel trailer on it with out the equalizer bars and it won't sag an inch. But get on a slab concrete freeway and it'll hurt ya. :'( :'( <br><br> JJ
