Oil Pressure Sensor Change Pain
Oil Pressure Sensor Change Pain
Gotta vent a bit while it's raining. I am having a very frustrating time changing out the oil pressure sensor on my truck. The deep socket that I have will not go onto the old sensor because the cotton picking vacuum pump/power steering pump sits far enough back to be just barely in the way. So I had to fight the old sensor with a crescent wrench and got it somewhat loose but not loose enough to get it with bare hands. Gotta try it more. It's either that or unbolt and move the vacuum/power steering pump out of the way.
Why do these things have to be such a pain?

Well I finally got mine fixed. I went back out and, after taking a breather, tried again. The old sensor came right off using the crescent wrench and I finally managed to get the new one back in.
Also managed to take the instrument cluster out, the gauges freshened and the voltage meter fixed (it was sticking). Oh, for anyone looking to tinker with their truck, when pulling the dash panel and gauge lights to check them, I noticed that all of them had a nice film of dust. If your dash lights are looking a little dim you might want to check the bulbs for cleanliness.
