oil leak behind the IP

Hey guys, I recently had my IP rebuilt, now I have a engine oil leak coming from about half way back on the driver side, its coming behind the insulation piece, it don't leak on idle but I went through 3L of oil in past 5 days, its fairly bad. Any ideas cause I'm stumped!! I thought possibly head gasket but I brake cleaned it of and its dry. Please help, I'm sick of marking my territory with this goat! Its a 93 W350. Thanks

It is probably the rubber gasket on the tappet cover it is a fairly easy job after the injection pump is removed.

Taking my time and taking pictures I did mine in an afternoon.

Right behind the injection pump is the TDC pin it could have fallen out or is leaking from being used to install the pump.

I second it, not a bad job once the ip is out of the way.

Where is the tappet cover located?? Your not talking about the valve cover gasket are you? What's behind the insulation on the engine block that could leak oil? That's where its coming from!

The tappet cover is behind that insulation. Like others have said it's not to bad of a job.
