Odometer re-set?
Odometer re-set?
Hi guys!
My '90 W-350 had the typical failure of the Odometer. Pushed the button to check mileage on a trip and that wonderful 'Snap-Crackle' sound and a quick death.
A buddy gave me a complete dash to replace it instead of hassling with rebuilding the Odometer according to the great instructions in the Stickies, THANKS for those!
So, 'new' unit is like 171K miles, old correct mileage is 141K. Only way I can think of to reset mileage is to hook up an electric motor to a piece of speedo cable and let her rip. Seems it would take weeks or months though!? Is there an easy, fairly quick or even any way to reset the miles on the replacement Odometer to match my old one's correct miles?
Thanks!
