It bolts to the engine side of the output flange on the transmission. Mine also came from AA. It is somewhat adjustable in how it mounts. My opinion is just buy it because it is not worth spending the time to re-engineer an inexpensive part, but if you want to work for a couple of bucks an hour that's up to you.

sorry to say the same thing but mine is from AA as well... the greatest part is that there is no more shifter rattle!

I think it's $50 to order.......

Looked at mine today and its not the same as the one I posted.....Mine is just a simple bracket made from like 2"x2" angle iron....and bolts to the back of the trans not the top.

Assuming you have an adapter between the 4500 and your T-case....didnt the kit come with a bracket??

Mine did....

My "over priced AA kit" came with the NP205 shifter mount, a new pilot bushing, a transmission mount spacer that let me use the Getrag cushion mounting (which permits remounting the cross member & the skid plate in the original location), a NEW bell housing that lets you RETAIN: the original 88-93 starter, the original "thin" engine to bell housing adapter, the original flywheel & clutch assembly, the original clutch release fork and pivot ball stud, and permits the clutch slave cylinder to be mounted in the original location without having to lengthen the line. Everything bolted together without any grinding to the bell housing or any major fit problems such as relocating the cross member. The price from memory two years ago was around $390. AA was also offering a NEW not rebuilt NV4500 transmission back then for around $2200. I have had no problems with the installation during the two years that I have been running it.

wow i never even knew AA made a kit like that for these trucks i have allways been told to call AA for the adapter and that one and every time i call they say they dont have anything so i have not had very good results with them getting parts i need let alone seeing if they work sounds like a really good "kit" i will have to check it out right now a new not rebuilt 4500 is about 4,000 just about anywhere i would rather just buy junk ones and do a full overhaul/rebuilt my self as these after market parts are better quality control than the stock NVG and dodge stuff but if AA still sells there kit for 400.00 then they should have the corner on the market i used a 4500 "thick" adapter a 4500 flywheel a 4500 bell pivot ball, clutch fork a second gen starter a second gen cushion mount and a piece of 1/4 in plate to bolt the cushion mount to my factory crossmember and i had to move my crossmember back one hole from the factory location (1 in) roughly i did use the stock clutch and hydo system with out any mods and no drive shaft mods
it all works out great i just have to mount my t-case shifter now and it will be done

with your "thin" adapter plate diid you have to cut the floor pan to set the trans back any??

I removed a section of the floor. Starting at the front most part of the original hole measure toward the seat 13-3/4" and strike a line from the drivers side to the passenger side parallel to the floor "stiffner buldge" then measure 1/4" to each side of the hole and strike a line on both sides that runs front to rear and forms a right angle to the first line. Then connect the last two lines under the dash at the front of the hole. Cut the floor out on these lines. Then make a removable floor panel one inch bigger than the section you removed. Worked out just fine for me.

I started with about an 8 inch piece of 3X2 angle iron. I shaped the 2 Inch side to the tailhousing. The flat 3 Inch side is where I bolted the 4WD shift linkage. Somehow It all worked and the 4WD lever comes right up where it belongs. no mods to the floor.
Yes I bolted an NV5600 in a 92 2WD about 4 years ago and a NV4500 in a 4WD about 2 years ago, its not too hard

I have an extra bracket here on the bench from my ford swap.....

I used the ford T-case instead of a 205, so I made my own...

I'd part with it unless your still set on building your own...
