Now the darn truck won't even start after meeting Mark Nixon down at rt66 to show him how to get to my house yesterday. I shouldn't have driven the truck... We got 2" of snow yesterday and I didn't feel like laying in it to drop my tank.. Now I'm starting to wonder if Jet A wasted my lift pump.

Mark,
Man, I'm sorry to hear about that.
I was very willing to help you drop that tank, right up to the point you mentioned it was SNOWING.
That stuff takes my urge to do ANYTHING away, instantly.

I'm home and I did get those cheap parts picked up that I called about while I was there.

Found out the voltage regulator shorted and was boiling the battery when I was about an hour from home, so I unplugged the regulator and drove on in.

looks like we both now have problems to solve.

Mark.

Glad you made it home mostly Ok.
I guess I'll have to wait until the weekend to pull the tank, that is if my backup car holds together. My Jeep has a monster leak in the radiator!

Not all the tanks have screens on them.
IMO, its easier to pull the bed off than to drop the tank, that way you can actually see what conditions your lines are in and its easier to work on.

I always had problems dropping the tanks by myself, it was much easier to use a block and tackle to pull the bed off than to drop the tank and do it by myself.

I don't have an A frame or a tree branch big enough for that, but I love the idea. Maybe I can take the bed bolts out and tip it back instead....

8 bolts and a few friends with a case of your favorite brew helps too!

um guys why don't you use a measuring tape and just cut a hole above the fuel pump with an angle grinder thin blade eh add some wings to the floor part when you put it back in and you have access now and later

My truck is so wierd. I just cracked some injectors to get it started, and it's idling with over 10 psi fuel pressure, yet when I drive it it starves and dies. Gotta be an obstruction in the tank, right?
Can't wait for the weekend to get the tank yanked out...
