Non intercooled vaccuum pump help

Hey guys, does anyone have a non ic vaccuum/power steering pump laying around? If so, could you check the measurement from the gear to the housing?
thanks

is there any back and forth play on that pump gear? Not sideways but like up and down if it were to sit straight up?

No, not any detectable play.

I see you are asking about how 70's grilles and I/C fitment questions over on RCC. I can not remember my password on RCC, so I will post here,

Read up on my 2wd 12V poptop RC build. I have some decent pictures and a write up on installing a 2nd gen intercooler on it. Took me many hours of work to get it like I wanted, but I like it now. I feel the '74-'76 style grill I used worked well. The '77/'78 with the turn signals inboard of the head lights was not an option.

Thankyou! Will definitely check it out!

Allright, so after hours of searching the web to no avail, taking the whole pump apart and assembling it again, looking into swapping to a later model van style, i said screw it and just intall it. So i went and bolted my brand new diaphrams on the pump.... and.... Tadaah! No more up and down play. So there, thats good. I probably still should switch to the vane, since i have one and the bracket, but i just can justify not using this one at the moment. Bought 2 new diaphrams, got new bearing pressed on at machine shop, brand new powersteering pump, new power steering hoses, a seal kit and a bunch of hours into this one. For the vane style i need a $70 seal kit, new hoses, new power steering pump and a bunch more time. Anyways thanks guys, especially u2slow for taking the time to check yours. Appreciate it alot!

Updating to the newer vac pump... You have the chop the throttle bracket aft of the ps pump and find a another means of support. You need to plumb the oil pressure line. If you want to support the longer pump itself (as it normally is) you have to extend the IP support bracket downward and fashion a twisted-L bracket over to the vac pump.

So for this reason, I'm building my 2wd RC with the old style pump. Whether I run vacuum brakes, or hydroboost (and gut the vac pump) i havent quite decided.

Edit: the ps hoses... you can use the longer intercooled hoses on the non-IC just fine. It gives better room for a future intercooler pipe fitting on the driver side.

Its definitely something ill keep in the back of my mind for the future. Sounds very doable. Just cant really justify it at the moment
