my odometer stopped but the speedo still works and every once in a while (not very often) the speedo goes to 0 then right quick goes back to speed. before i take the cluster out any one have an idea? thanks

You pretty much nailed it. I went through the same thing with my sons '90 and found that it was in the speedo head.
