Thumbs down Niagra Falls with Diesel Fuel

My pump went to heaven today on my way to Los Alamos. I noticed my fuel gauge moving faster than my old HEMI Road Runner's used to, so I pulled over and saw a flood coming out of the front of the VE. I limped it to Santa Fe, Filled up the tank and headed for the nearest Bosch repair place (Albuquerque), but the truck started running extremely poorly about 15 miles from town. I drove it anyway, making 25 MPH and leaving a snail trail the whole way. Couldn't find a pump in town so I ordered one out of Oregon, and limped home to the mountains, trying to keep the temp under 900f (post turbo). I don't think the truck is damaged otherwise.

My Question(s),
How should I adjust the new pump, and did turning up the fueling screw on my old one lead to it's demise?
Where do I get the governor spring, and will the higher revs cause ring brakage on the cylinder ridge?

Thanks!
Mark

I doubt the fuell screw hurt anything, Ive had mine cranked down for a million miles and no problems, post turbo temps under 1100 is OK.

On the spring, I think Piers has them. How high are you reving? 3000 isnt going to hurt things.

I don't know how high I'm reving it, because I haven't put in a tach yet. I wrap it till I just start to feel the governer, then shift (this is hard acceleration of course).

Who is Piers?

A stock pump cuts fuel at 2500, so your plenty safe there.

I pulled my old pump today and founf the massive leak was caused by a missing plate on the engine side and bottom on the pump. Both the screws are broken off flush with the pump body. I can't figure out what could have caused this to happen.
