New V8 Cummins

Anyone else salivating over the V8 Cummins that is (to Mopar's shame) coming out in a (gulp) Nisan.
I'm still putting the 4BT in my 1941 Military, but I must admit that I am lusting over that V8... Can I get a witness?

Ummmm...will have to see I guess. No longer a "true to it's roots" cummins diesel in my books once you go to a V8.

Inlines run smoother. Plus, I think 1000lbs is heavy enough for the front of my truck. 903s and the other v-8s just too industrial. I like simplicity.

It looks like a nice engine but personally the Italian 3.0L in the new 1/2 ton Ram seems like a better package.

Yep, much as I hate to admit it, the MPG those things have been reporting is way above where the Cummins was reporting.

If you want an inline, the Nissan should have a Cummins inline 4 out soon.

I am interested in the Rams new diesel, but I wont touch one until they have been around a few years. For all we know they could be like Fords 6.0

It is the same 3.0 that has been available in the Grand Cherokee for several years now, well proven design.

I worry more about the 8 speed trans.

I wouldn't. Same trans as what's in the BMW 7 series. They have been thoroughly tested.
